Uh Oh

I bought a new Macbook Pro a few months ago and it is having a weird issue. The screen will randomly look like it has spotlights shining up the screen. Even worse than the problem is the fact that the genius at Apple doesn’t know what is wrong with it. Basically he is going to send it somewhere and get it fixed. I am typing my last blog entry before this little guy is shipped off for surgery.  Pour one for my homey.

Brentwood Oaks Murder

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Heather and Dakota went for their morning run and were stopped by police in our apartment complex. Apparently a jealous ex boyfriend murdered a guy in our apartment complex at 5 am on Monday morning.  What the heck? There was a full blown crime scene about 100 feet from our balcony. The ex boyfriend shot a guy around 5 times outside our balcony and we didn’t even wake up. That’s pretty weird if you ask me.  Suppossedly, the guy that was murdered had recently filed police reports saying that the ex boyfriend was trying to kill him. Obviously the police couldn’t help this because the guy was outside, with a gun, waiting on him to leave for work.

I filled in as road manager this weekend for a friend (Kevin). I’ve never been a road manager but luckily Kevin is a road managing genius and told me exactly what to do. Basically, I flew to Baltimore with a comedian arranged a few things, connected some dots, answered questions and came back to Nashville this morning. The trip was a lot more fun and far more laid back than I was expecting it to be.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how the airline industry will change in the next couple of years. Airports, by design, create a massive bottleneck. Bottlenecks increase friction. Friction reduces efficiency. Reduce efficiency and you kill profits. The increase in the cost of oil combined with incredible inefficiencies and you’ve got a perfect storm. Is there a fix?
