County Fair

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

As I’ve mentioned, I play in a band for a country artist named CJ Weems.  We played a show last weekend at the Cumberland County Fair in Crossville, TN.  Needless to say it was pretty awesome.  The whole event was just like you would expect a county fair to be.  The crowd consisted of a bunch of country folk + some of our friends.  I think the pictures will do a better job of taking you there….  This was the first time I’ve played live in a year and the first band I’ve played bass in.  Very good times.

Highlights of the fair (other than playing):

1. There was a Camel.

2. There may have been more tractors than people. (and there were a ton of people)

3. Fried everything (oreos, nutter butters, snickers….you name it.)

4. Super Giga Beef Jerky

Church Signs

We just got back from Sushi night and found a great post by a fellow blogger.  Kyle Campos wrote a funny post about church signs @ Our Rising Sound.

Some news:                                                                                                                                                      -The country band I play in has a show at a county fair this weekend. The artist is CJ Weems.

-Next weekend is John Mark McMillan’s CD Release show in Charlotte, NC.                                                            – He has a blog @ Worship Arts Revival

Love Germany

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Heather and I love Germany.  Honestly, it’s our favorite place in the world to visit.

1. I asked Heather to marry me in Cologne.

3. Hannsaring in Cologne has the best pizza ever.  We would fly there just to eat it.

4. We get to hang out with the coolest people in the world (Alan, Mareike, Stephan, Jule, and Daniel are some you may have actually met)

5. H&M

6. Freakstock–a christian festival like you have never experienced. Not a whole lot of religion hanging out at this place.

7. Lubeck–Kite Surfing and general awesomeness.

8. Doner Kebaps–Elkie the Doner Man

9. The Music Store

10. The irony of the Autobahn–the slowest moving “fastest highway” in the world. Seriously.

Alan and Mareike are there now. They have been there a day and are already sporting some new H&M gear.  Heather and I can’t believe we couldn’t go.  We will have to go soon.
