We are moving this weekend. I don’t hate many things but I absolutely hate moving. I love living in a new place and relocating but the moving process is my kryptonite. We are moving about 3 miles from where we live now. I know…..it’s going to be hard getting used to a new location. We are officially withdrawing from apartment life. We aren’t buying yet but the 4 sets of stairs between me and my car have pushed me to the edge. Sometimes I get home and want to just sleep in my car rather than walk up all those stairs. Lazy right?
I rented the biggest truck Uhaul offers. I think it may have more square feet than our apartment but at least we won’t be making two trips. Oh the joy of moving…..
Really, we are super grateful for the apartment we’ve had for the last year and a half. Brentwood Oaks Apartments have been great to us and there are some really great people living here.
Am I alone in my hatred of moving?
no, you are not alone…I too know this loathing–not so much moving to the new place–but the process of leaving the old one. after you move all your stuff, even the trash (cause you don’t have time to decide what is trash now or what will be trash in a few years); you have to clean. this is the worst part and its not even the cleaning that i don’t like, its not knowing how much to clean. with the strategically held deposit/cleaning ransom, you have to decide if that spot on the carpet is a $500 spot or not… But at least by the end of the day you might find that expired coupon you lost a year ago, its a small victory cause at least now you have some closure. The irony in all this is that you will loose more coupons in the move only to be discovered when you move again.
