Babysitting
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008Our cousins, Jamie and Arsella, came to Nashville this weekend for the Titans game. They have a baby, Cayden, that for obvious reasons can’t go to the Titans game. We babysat said baby. I don’t know what age he is but he can barely sit up, walk or not puke if that gives you an idea.
Note: I call the little guy Chester.
Chester gave Heather and me a crash course on babysitting. Heather was a babysitter through high school so she gets it but me on the other hand….I’m not as clued in to the whole baby deal. Now, I do understand where babies come from and the whole “birds and the bees” idea but that doesn’t begin to cover what went down on Saturday.
So here is how it went….
- He slept.
- He cried
- He puked
- He ate
- I went to Guitarcenter
- He puked
- He slept
- He cried
- He flipped out when he saw his bottle. (apparently this is normal behavior for him because he was just excited).
- He ate
- He puked
- He cried
I respect anyone who can puke that much in one day. Really, that is something to be proud of.
Somehow everything I did that initially made him smile would end up making him cry. I must have played guitar and sung (his parents said he loves singing) to this little guy for an hour only to end with more tears. I have no idea how you can possibly be ready to have a baby.
I don’t even know what else to say. My head still hurts.
