Babysitting

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Our cousins, Jamie and Arsella, came to Nashville this weekend for the Titans game. They have a baby, Cayden, that for obvious reasons can’t go to the Titans game.  We babysat said baby.  I don’t know what age he is but he can barely sit up, walk or not puke if that gives you an idea.

Note: I call the little guy Chester.

Chester gave Heather and me a crash course on babysitting.  Heather was a babysitter through high school so she gets it but me on the other hand….I’m not as clued in to the whole baby deal.  Now, I do understand where babies come from and the whole “birds and the bees” idea but that doesn’t begin to cover what went down on Saturday.

So here is how it went….

  1. He slept.
  2. He cried
  3. He puked
  4. He ate
  5. I went to Guitarcenter
  6. He puked
  7. He slept
  8. He cried
  9. He flipped out when he saw his bottle. (apparently this is normal behavior for him because he was just excited).
  10. He ate
  11. He puked
  12. He cried

I respect anyone who can puke that much in one day.  Really, that is something to be proud of.

Somehow everything I did that initially made him smile would end up making him cry.  I must have played guitar and sung (his parents said he loves singing) to this little guy for an hour only to end with more tears.  I have no idea how you can possibly be ready to have a baby.

I don’t even know what else to say.  My head still hurts.

Craigslist City

Friday, November 21st, 2008

I will be in Birmingham this weekend so I listed my bass on Birmingham’s Craigslist and got a great lead. I think this person is sincere in his interest and I trust him to send me the money.

I mailed him the bass yesterday because he needed it soon. I should get the money for it on Monday or Tuesday because he rushed it. Now I can go and buy the bass I really want.

Come on guys, give me some credit. I didn’t send him the bass but I do wonder how many people buy into this type of garbage. I did ask him for the address that he wants me to send the bass to. Sometimes I like to string these guys out a little.

I list stuff pretty frequently in Nashville and never get scammers but every time I list in a smaller city I get nothing but scammers. Maybe scammers practice on Craigslist until they get really good and then they move to eBay.

Ever been scammed?

I Need a Jacket

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Somehow I have been wearing a woman’s jacket.  This probably wouldn’t be any big deal had the guys I work with, Brian and James (go check out his blog), not noticed.

Well…..they noticed.  I’m getting a new jacket just as soon as I can find one that I like.  Until then I will button my jacket on the opposite side and be happy knowing that I am warmer than they are.

Brian and James would probably describe the jacket as looking like this picture and it may be this exact jacket from Ann Taylor.  It’s nothing like this but I’ll refrain from describing it so you can keep wondering.

You thought I would quit wearing it….right?
