Pigs Feet

Friday, March 27th, 2009

We like to have “kick offs” for everything in Selma.

We had a little Spring kick off last Sunday.  Grilling, relaxing outside, frisbee, wiffle ball and such.  A couple of the guys work at a little grocery store that sells great seafood and steaks called Mark’s Mart.  They had some leftover seafood and we had a grill…..and that’s how Spring gets a sudden kick off.

Grilled pig’s feet.  Think……veiny, fatty, ligaments, skin and hair with the sound of crushing bones as Andrew bites into it.  The pictures say more than enough.

Dig in.

Pig's Feet

You want to bite off one of those toes don’t you?

The Feet of a Pig

Life in Selma, AL

Friday, March 20th, 2009

We are officially in Selma.

Here is a picture of where we are living (Alan and Mareike’s house).

Life in Selma is different and awesome……

I went to the courthouse last week to apply for a permit to carry a handgun (weird, I know). Yesterday I stopped by to sign the paperwork and finalize the process. Easy enough right? Well, it turns out a man in Collier County Florida used my social and birth date when he was arrested and convicted of something. So this man is a convicted felon and has an active nationwide felony warrant for his arrest and extradition to Florida. So, I was supposed to be arrested the moment I entered the Sheriff’s Office. After arresting me they would call Florida and begin the extradition process that could take up to 10 days while I sat in the Dallas County Jail. Sounds like a bad/good joke right? It wasn’t and they were pretty serious about it. Obviously, I didn’t get arrested. They ended up calling the Florida Sheriff’s Office and they said it was a mistake. Done……

Did I mention we bought a house today?

What a weird day…and it’s only 12:00.
