Goodbye Nashville

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

It’s been quiet around here right?
We’ve been really busy soaking up our last week in Nashville. Here is what it’s been like…

  • Ate Sushi with friends and saw Jacob Blount play at Bongo Java.
  • Heather and I drove to Birmingham after the show.
  • Hung with the Bedouins International guys.
  • Heather drove to Selma to look at some houses.
  • Ate Davenport’s Pizza with Heather. This pizza is stupid good.
  • Stayed with our amazing cousins Kent and Carmen. Kent cooked an amazing breakfast on Sunday morning while 5 inches of snow fell.
  • We played in the snow. Snowmen, ski instructor Kent, boogie boards, snowballs, snow angels, heaven.
  • Drove back to Nashville to eat with some friends.
  • Dinner with 2 couples turned out to be a surprise going away party that was out of sight. “Hick” themed madness! I can’t remember ever being surprised like this. It was the coolest thing ever!!
  • Packed all day Monday.
  • My last Monday night at the Flying Saucer(as a Nashville resident).
  • Packed all day Tuesday.
  • Lunch with James Capozzi on Tuesday. (click his name)
  • Amanda’s Birthday party at Lime on Tuesday night.
  • Packed until 3. Hung out with CJ and the band at Diamond Studios.
  • Laser Tag tonight! Yep, a bunch of 20 somethings love some laser tag.
  • Cookie Dough Eggrolls at Jackson’s
  • The movers come at 9 tomorrow morning and we are gone.

Goodbye Nashville….

Soaking It Up

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

I spent most of last week looking for a house in Selma.  I think we have narrowed it down to a just a few.  I’m finally realizing that we are actually moving in about 2 weeks.

We love Nashville and what God has done in us over the last two years.  We were lonely for most of the first year.  I remember coming home from work (Home Depot) on my birthday and being met at the door by Heather and Dakota wearing birthday hats.  The house was decorated and the 3 of us were the only people we knew in Nashville.  In that first year I wondered if we would ever miss Nashville when we left.  We were lonely but we still had tons of fun.

We have so many amazing friends now.  The last year has been so different from the first.  God has connected us with people who will be life long friends. We are taking the next few weeks to hang out with everyone and make a few more memories before we leave.

Last Day at Work

It feels really weird but it’s official.

I’m going to try to soak this day up. I didn’t apply for this job thinking I would make some amazing friends here but…..I did.

I’ll post more later……..
