More phone posting….

Heather and I are driving from Nashville to Selma, AL right now. Traveling is fun to me. Sometimes I feel so busy that I don’t get the chance to really shut everything down and just be occupied by nothing(I can’t decide if that actually makes sense). Driving in the car eliminates almost everything. All you can do is sit here and relax. That’s a good thing!

I think there are two kinds of travelers.

1. The first type are the ones who wake everyone up at 4AM to get in the car when there is no rush at all. These people are all about the destination. It’s like their is a monster (travel) between them and the destination and their job is to kill the monster. They kill the problem by starting the trip very early, filling up with gas the night before and bypassing any outlet malls. This is me.

2. The second type isn’t that concerned about getting to the destination and doesn’t mind if a 4 hour trip takes 8 hours. You know who I’m talking about here. These guys see outlet malls and dream of huge piles of Rockport Shoes, Gap sweaters and every color Polo shirt one could ever want.

I know what your thinking…..”I’m somewhere between these two types….” Well, I don’t buy it. Your dreaming of Outlet Malls right now. Your the one that wants to eat at Cracker Barrel in the middle of a 4 hour drive.

While we are driving, our friends James and Lauren are sitting in the airport waiting on their delayed flight. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

How’s that for some random thoughts?

Travels

It’s 10:41 and I walked off the stage in Greeneville, TN at 9. Now Heather and I are driving to Selma. We will be headed towards Florida tomorrow morning. We are in Cleveland, TN right now and we are feeling pretty good. The next stop will involve energy pills and Red Bull. We may have to sleep in Birmingham. I’ll toast a sugar free Red Bull to not stopping this journey until we are done.

Look at all the “villes” we are going through today……

Nashville
Cookville
Crossville, TN
Knoxville
Greeneville
Collinsville
Rainsville
Crossville, AL
Springville
Odenville
Trussville
Maplesville

That’s a ton of villes right?

Crazy Weekend

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Heather and I flew to Charlotte this weekend for John Mark McMillan’s CD release show.

Broadcast Safe played first.  They have a really intimate and soothing worship sound.  No CD out yet but definitely one to wait around on.

Songs of Water played right before John Mark.  They have a really earthy sound and play instruments that are the most unique I’ve ever seen or heard.

John Mark’s show was incredible. If your looking for some new tunes, check out the music he posted from the new CD on his myspace page.

The best part was that Heather got to go with me this time.  Great food, great friends and great music…that’s worth traveling for.
